Am I correct in that you have been offered £900 plus the Cat B car or £1000 without the car?
The other way of approaching the valuation is from its break up value so you could get evidence of the LET being worth the £1000 on its own, plus £300 for the F28 etc etc. There are 3 traders on Mig, including Chavtastic here, who break Cav/Cally Turbos and could probably give you valuations.

Re: ONE LESS CALIBRA TURBO ON THE ROAD! :'(
i would say there are talking s**t about the reason for it being a cat B, does anyone watch wreck to rich's with that Dom guy, they bought a range rover vogue which had the full interior, dash the lot all burnt the seats where only frame the windows had to be replaced as well, so how can they do it and you cant
and as for only £1000 for a 4x4 turbo they are well out they are worth 2x that they must just be looking at an ecotec and adding 200 or 300 and getting the £1000 they offered you, you need to get some old prices and figures together the turbo is now a rare classic try find out how many are left on the road and put your case to them, you should also ask if our Admin or Mod team can give you a letter with this clubs opinion on value, i would say a moted 4x4 turbo is worth £1800 to £3000

£1000 without car! But as i declined I never went any further, but id assume that would mean £900 plus my car minus £200 excess. He's asked me to email him links of value. So...?!

Taking that into account the quotation doesnt seem too bad. If you get £900 and the car back you are easily looking at a further £1k for the engine, Couple of hundred for gearbox, transfer box before looking at all the other bits. Thats easily a total of £2.5k to £3k, worth considering against how much you origionally paid?

ye but they are only give £100 more if she dosnt take the car so they are only seeing the salvage value of £100 or have i picke that up wroung, they shoud be giving more for car in the 1st place before the buy back price is made
£2000 less buy back not £1000 less £100 buy back

Re: ONE LESS CALIBRA TURBO ON THE ROAD! :'(
Yeah I see your point bodgetastic BUT its the value of the car. Forget Im buying it back. If i didnt id get £1000 minus my excess!! The fact im buying back does not effect this figure at their end! So I think the figure is a P'take. Yes I know once I strip and sell parts I may make up to 2.5k...but thats my time, my effort (or my partners) so......!
You are right Steve!
At this stage it is about looking at what the value of my car stands prior to it being stolen. What a 1995 calibra turbo 4x4 150,000 miles lady owned for 6yrs yada yada would fetch today!!! Then I pay 10% of that offer to buy my own car back....this is MY choice....no settlement!

Re: ONE LESS CALIBRA TURBO ON THE ROAD! :'(
At the time 1500, I would have accepted that. But thought £1000 was an utter JOKE! I mean as it stands ad probs get that!
As for recent pics I dont have any. It is was it is.....extremely clean inside!! Leather interior perfecto!!!!!!!! or was! Slight rust to arches, spot where on bonnet, where bonnet meets front grill. If that makes sense. She was a lovely example. My next step was to address the rust prior to selling. Not sure if ya'll remember a previous post while back mentioning I may sell! So in opinion they robbed me of this!! And robbed the fact another Calibra Turbo is now going to be scrap. I just want a fair price, nothing else. And prices have risen, I was due to renew in Sept, I would have updated what its worth then, as I do!! So?!....However I really dont want to argue with you lot, or the insurance I am sick of this battle all because of some little tw@ts that thought it would be ok to break in to my home and steal my keys. Im just going to submit what I have. Not sure waiting any longer is going to serve me any justice. So..
Engine wise perfect.....serviced regular, my partner is a Lexus Tech yada yada I know if i sold her prior to this as she stood Id of easily got £1800 asap on pistonheads or ebay!

Re: ONE LESS CALIBRA TURBO ON THE ROAD! :'(
i hear you load and clear, the price they offer you has nothing to do with what the scrape car is worth in parts, they have to pay out what the car was worth before the theft, then they can charge what ever for you to buy it back, they have already said that is usually around 10% of the payout,
as for value as most have said any where from £1500 upwards depending on most of the things has already said,
i cant see why this club cant give out valuations to its members, we are the official calibra club endorsed by the VBOA and Vauxhall so what we say should have some weight, when i was in the manta owners club the regional reps could value your car and give a written note on club paper which could be used for insurance ect, it wouldnt be hard for the club to do this too

a specific price for individuals cars its not as if we don't know what they sell for and have years of experience in buying and selling both std and mod calibras, we wouldn't be saying that this is an exact value it is just a guide and the opinion of a recognised club

you only asked for this Thursday evening and I have already said we would consider this....never said we would not. Things have to be looked at as I have no idea pf prices so I had to look at what the prices are (and I know a few people have bought a turbo for a lot less than £1500 on here as well)

As the PM reply....I was not expecting for a response ASAP...this matter was being dealt with between me and you. I just think the mannor as mentioned in my PM could have been a little more sensitive to the topic. (I paid just over £1550 some years ago, when the turbo 4x4 didn't fetch what it does today)
