Loosing the will

by Robs-se » Sun Jan 22, 2012 8:29 pm

to keep the bl**dy car as its really beginning to annoy me now.
Have had a problem with the alternator not charging the battery
as there was also a squealing noise coming from it as well.
Changed the alternator today, recharged the the battery and
on restarting there is now another noise coming from the belt.
now i'll have to take the belt off and check the other wheels again
(they sounded alright when i spun the with the belt off before)
Any other suggestions are also welcome.
This comes with the embarassment of having to get into the car
through the boot this morning and the neighbours all laughing :(
Still on a plus side i should be getting my new zorst soon so maybe
i'll like the car again then.

oh dont give up .....its only one of those things sent to test you

I presume your on about the auxiliary belt rather than the timing belt ?? if not the alternator then can only be the power steering pump pulley or the automatic tensioner

Luckily its the aux belt, will have another look at the pump and tensioner tomorrow, hopefully i will get this sorted and some of the other niggles like the wheel wobble on breaking from speed, the rattle from the exhaust - new Jetex cat back on order, the abs light coming on when turning sharp left - abs ring wire brushed this afternoon and plenty of slack in the wire.

Not only have i replaced the alternator and ordered a tensioner but a week after replacing the knacked alternator and recharging the battery, the battery was flat this morning. P!ssed off now as i've now had to buy a new battery. not happy :( , but its all i have now and need it for work so hopefully it will stop bleeding money
