it does come in three's
well after the wiring loom problem at the MOT ...still need that bit of loom to fix it

So went up the town to get some things came back to car to find flat tyre carpark is on hill so drove down to the flat bit on main road to change wheel ...raining so roads are very wet ...and as I jacked the car up on the standard jack
....the jack slipped on the wet ground and

the air was as blue as the car at this point I can telll you ...manage dto get the wheel off and got the run flat....to find that it is indeed FLAT ...so bugger t fitted that and drove round to the tyre place (not that far as it happens)
to be told the tyre has not one but two punctures ...one by a broken stanly blade...whch caused a lightbulb moment as had used a stanly blade to cut back the insulation on the wiring loom to do a repair ...must have dropped the blade and as I move dthe car it went into the tyre
so now need 4 tyres as dont want to mix the tyres on an axle and the tyres on the car are the originals so getting on a bit...and the rears are down at 3mm
think I will be gettng a small scissor jack to keep the in the car than use that stupid leg type jack

nightmare mate, you looked into getting the sill fixed then. dont think you will be wanting something like that ruining the car

BETTER TO HAVE A CALIBRA AND NOT NEED ONE, THAN NEED A CALIBRA AND NOT HAVE ONE!!!

I feel your pain mate! However you have enetered the club for dented sills from jacking c**k ups!

Re: it does come in three's
How Unfortunate...
I've heard of this, happening quite a few times...
That's why I replaced the Calibra Jack with a Vectra Jack,
which has a much higher weight capacity, and also a larger base...
I advise everyone to get hold of one of them, as well as keeping a tailored size
block of timber, in the boot of their car...

There is a local guy who we have used a few times to do smart repairs ...he is coming round Monay to have a look....should have just drove the car with a a flat tyre to the tyre place....would have meant a new tyre but at least no jack slipping and a dent in Cill
hindsght is great though

Re: it does come in three's
it got fixed, and as feared the colour match is not perfect as there is only one shade for my car, so its that or nothing though he is going to look at other options
did a good job and I guess if you did not know it was there you would be hard pushed to notice it....but I do notice it which is annoying
did try to take a picture but the camera does not really pick it up
Oh and I now have a scissor jack from a Nissian in the car and it works fine ...much better than any one leg type jack ...so I would ditch your Vectra one and get one of those

They jacks are a nightmare Fraz.Same thing happened to me about ten years ago
and the sill got dented.
So do you think it will be hard to get a decent match when I get round to getting
the bonnet resprayed on the se6?

I very much doubt it ...as I said there is one shade only for the colour code.
I had the last SE6 done as well and that never turned out very well, a big panel like the bonnet will stick out like a sore thumb I would think, so unless your very lucky and the paint they get is a better match, or they try and mix it themselves to match the paint. only other way is to use one of those places that scan the paint and match it that way ...but thats expensive and you would hav eto take some part thats painted to them ...and It would need to be a metal part as a plastic part (like the filler cap) would give a false reading

There's no Calibra in that colour over here, or in Yellow either...
Not sure that I've ever seen a black one, as well...
I've only ever seen White, Red, Dark Blue, Champagne, Dark Grey, Dark Green and Purple...
