Depends on what engine you have in there now.
I helped Dan swap out his C20NE for an X25XE & that was a real ordeal. Wiring loom, pedal box etc needed to be changed. The underbonnet layout is very different. It was almost a complete rebuild.
He then upgraded from X25/F25 to X32/F28 & this conversion was quite simple in comparison.

Neither, get a turbo!
On a serious note it depends what you want, the v6 is smooth and sounds nice (ish) but lacks any real grunt due to the heavy heavy flywheel , I had an se2 and se9 at the same tine and the se2 felt the same (c20xe) around the town anyway.

Not true mate. I've done it myself last year.
Going from 6 to 4 cylinders would be plug and play for the wiring, in the drivers footwell.
Going 4 to 6 is 95% plug and play too, with only a couple of trivial bits needing wiring in.
Pedals are identical too as far as I know!

Re: c20xe or c25xe v6?? carnt decide which
well im no michanic an not long since started to get into that side of things an i get help with most i do so to hear advise from yourselfs who have tryed these engine transplant an also run these engines is much appreciated thank you to you all.
im not overly bothered about power just like it there when its needed as im happy with the ecotec's power im running now,
i dont really travel that much just potter about town mainly which is making me think the c20xe would be better but i dont like the eco on the motorway an it feels like its screaming its balls off, is the c20xe better than the eco for this?
im think the c25xe would be better but wasted around town,
which ever i fit will eventually get an f28 fitted as got to pay for a full respray first just stuck on engine choice when the sprays dun
thanks again tosh

As Chav says the pedals are all the same the v6 is a great sound but the turbo is the one that pushes you back in the seat,
if you go v6 dont p**s about with a 2.5 get a 3.0 or 3.2 there not much dearer to buy and no more work needed to fit but be warned if you get the bhp bug youll need deep pockets

id love a turbo but been told its a lot to pay out for just a 2wd so plan to but a rolling shell an rebuild one some day,
if its not worth the time to p**s about with the 2.5 v6 then ill go with the c20xe as there the two engines i have,
the car its going in has been mod'd an ano most like standard but ive dun it with a kit to my taste an put my touch to it so if your sayin the 2.5 is a waste of time ill put the c20xe in it to a good speck an some polishing should shine up pretty nice
