Following a call from the brethren north of the border, you will also need a six speed gear lever because the reverse is in a different position on the F28 to the F25 and you have the safety collar lockout.

Not unless you ditch the lead lined driving boots.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getrag_F28/6_transmission
1st gear ratio: 3.57:1
2nd gear ratio: 2.16:1
3rd gear ratio: 1.45:1
4th gear ratio: 1.10:1
5th gear ratio: 0.89:1
6th gear ratio: 0.74:1
Reverse gear ratio: 3.23:1
Final drive ratio: 3.72:1 (front)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F25_manual_transmission
1st gear ratio 3.38:1
2nd gear ratio 1.76:1
3rd gear ratio 1.12:1
4th gear ratio 0.89:1
5th gear ratio 0.77:1
Reverse gear ratio 3.17:1
differential ratio 3.82:1 or 4.05:1

So the :1 is output speed of the gearbox, X.XX is gearbox input speed or engine rpm.

6th gear on the F28 is as close as dammit to 5th on the F25 so high speed cruising won't see ant difference. You might end up using more because of the shorter ratios of the F28 through the gears.

But shorter ratios equals faster acceleration. So looking at the above the F28 will be faster through the gears, unless you fluff a gear change :D

From my own unscientific testing F25 3rd gear tops out at 115, F28 3rd tops out at 88........

Then it all goes blurry and I wake up in 1963 :geek:
I used to own this Calibra...
I now own this one.
