Limited Milage

by Calibra_Mike » Mon Jul 26, 2010 6:41 pm

I was just talking to my insurer as my insurance is due soon and now I have a work van and use that pretty much most of the time I asked them about limited milage...

so from 10K/year to 3K/year they would lower it £17... hmmm that just doesn't seem right...

If you are over 25 and have a 'main' vehicle, try putting it on a Classic policy instead.

I have not heard that. I put my LE on a classic policy a couple of months ago.

i think limited mileage only makes any real differance in your first year or so i remember when i first passed my test having a limit of 6,000 miles dropped my quotes buy between £500-700 but in the second year the differance was £100 and basically nothing by the 3rd year

ive always declared 10-12k every year but tbh i have never done too many in the last 3 years and with the petrol prices today that sort of puts a spanner in the works .

ive also heard from a few sources that classic insurance is supposed to pay out more on claims etc ,,,i dont know if i believe any of it.
