Re: Brakes!!!
Wanting Clutch Kit, front brake calipers, pads and disc rotors for 2.0i 16v petrol ( non turbo) 1992 model.
Also rear boot lock with key and number plate lights.
Wondering if anyone can point me to a supplier in the UK would be a great help.
Reason why?. Well it is much cheaper for me to purchase the parts in the UK including shipping costs than it is to purchase them here. and that's if i'm able to find any here.
For example : clutch kit ( GBP 115.51 incl vat) $ 271.00 AUD )) cost in UK. Here cost $ 401.00 AUD
So this is why i'm asking. I'm not great with this forums,so don't know how to go about putting up a new post.
Cheers,
Ron..

Hi Ron,
I live in Sydney, the best place as KERR_SE9 said is:
http://www.autovaux.co.uk
Give them a call about 9pm it about 10am local time, parts are usually delivered with about 10 days, and the prices are about a third of what holden want.
Over the years I have bought filters, clutch kits, AFM, timing kits etc.
Calling from oz, the number is: 0011441924376003
I just call them on my mobile phone, it's not expensive on my 3 Australia plan.
P.S. Today I called Holden to get a quote on some parts get this they quoted my $70.00 each for the number plate lamps and get this $501.00 for the right rear tail light. Lucky I sitting down or I would have fallen on my ***.
Regards Boris

Hi Specks
Its hard to get new parts in oz, calibra = no longer stocked, and what parts are available from Holden or Repco are shockingly pricey. And so the reason I buy from the UK is because parts delivered are about a third of the price from the UK e.g. an air filter costs 10 pounds & a clutch kit costs 300 pounds.

Hi taz666,
Yeh it is that bad, the guys behind the counter at Holden give you this silly look when they tell the prices, as if to say "I know that's a crazy price but thats what it is".
Holden does not stock parts besides filters & belts and that type of thing, as rule of thumb, after a car has been out of production for more than ten years so what ever you manage to get is usually just left overs. So that makes it even hard to get parts. That's why I feel lucky that the UK still seems to provide parts e.g. Autovaux, because I can keep my cally on the road.
As an aside I also appreciate the help I get from you guys, you are a very knowledgeable community e.g. I just changed the time belt on my V6 about a month ago and had this aweful rattling noise on deceleration, I picked from one of the threads that you need a bit of copper slip on the backing washer so applied some and hah presto no more rattling. Thanks guys.
