She's ALIVE!!!!!

We have reverse & gears 1st through to 6th (took about 10 mins)! The connector for the reverse light switch just so happens to be identical to the one for the alternator cooling fan. First test of reverse lights, no lights but what's that sound from under the bonnet? Ah, that'll be the alternator cooling fan turning on when reverse was selected lol!

A swift plug swap about from Iain (rips) sorted that one but then it was also swiftly noticed that I'd cocked up the coolant hoses from the bottom of the expansion tank & the matrix. Yeah, yeah, also now sorted!

EML is on & couldn't for the life of us figure out why we were left with this connector?



After the bonnet was lifted back on again & I was packing up for the day it was soon realized that it's the connector for the idle control valve, another ooops (hey, s**t happens) so not sure if that's the reason for the EML or not?

I really, really don't care at the moment though as the main thing is that the engine is running & within minutes was purring like a kitten!

Tomorrow is reassemble the front end to get it back on wheels, re-check all fluids once it's level & test drive! All being well, drive her home back to my very empty (& feeling sorry for itself) garage ready for a major play next weekend & sort out any odds & sods post transplant.

The term "happy as pig in s**t" doesn't even come close!
