not a good start to the season
well after much head scratching last weekend David and myself were back at it today. with the timing checked we checked for compression it was at this point with no compression it was beginning to sink in all was not well with the engine. off came the rocker cover to show the cams were not as they should be.
after taking off the cam pulley it was then all to obvious what had happened the cam pin was sheared off. these pins were hollow though and not solid pins like you normally get. after changing the cams to the ones with solid pins we were basically hoping we might have got away with it as there was no noise that the valves were slapping the pistons. unfortunately it wasnt to be. so next job was to get the head off to see how much damage had been done.
and heres the result

Re: not a good start to the season
If it's any consolation, I think mine's broke too (not quite to your standard though lol).
Think I've bust an engine mount as there's now an amazing "clunk" from up front when I change gear in anger while giving it some beans. Knew I should've sorted that torque bar sooner!
