But of a update,
I've been working on this as much as I can, with little time to add pics or updates.
But this weekend I reached a bit of a mile stone.
I got to drive my calibra for the first time
Even though it was only by 1 car length lol,
Anymore and I would have had to open the gates moved my other car and neighbours.
I'm over the moon.
As my last post showed, the engine went in.
Then obviously I had to fit loom. which wasn't plug and play
The connectors on the loom nr the ECU where male ends, and so where the ones on the engine loom from the cav I took engine & loom from!? Thankfully I had the loom from my old turbo. So I had to change over the plugs and solder all connectors to female plug.
Manages to get all rad, steering pump, hoses etc in with minimal drama,
But the gear linkage wasn't right
Linkage had a male end on instead of the female clamp type.
I had a aftermarket exhaust which I fitted with a de-cat pipe I had to bodge together.
And turned the key!!!!
And .......
Nothing
After hr's I worked out how the after market alarm worked ::)
It's got remote central locking
(Which I quite like)
But you have to press another button befor gulf pump works :/
Finally, she started (smugness)
But with no drive shafts or gear linkage
The next step was to change my workshop from the spay booth it had been into a space where the car could be to work on.
The car came in. Cv joints where changed, lower arms properly fitted, track rid ends sorted, abs sensors, brake calipers, pad ware sensors,
Rear breaks where a big set back!! As it didn't have anything on one side when I got the car.
Vauxhall wanted £73 for the parts that spread the hand break shoe with the adjuster. !!! F*** that!!
So a 5 hr drive to Woking sorted them parts out. Then 2 days later a 7 hr drive to Nottingham sorted the other parts I was missing. (No prize for who I went to in Nottingham lol)
So. I was able to build rear drums, fit the gear linkage, change the thermostat housing that was leaking,
Bought two rear sub frame bushes and fitted,
FINALY found a original bonnet badge that I've been looking for since I got the car.
Also got what I hope/believe to be a original back box to go with my std look. And new std centre section exhaust.
After all that and probably much more I've forgot, I drove it out my work shop! And set up my running ramps. And backed it in again
Know I can get under the car (even crawl about)
Now I plan to remove petrol tank & check tank top, replace fuel lines with copper, fuel pump and filter needs a new bracket (held up with zip ties :/ )
Under seal everything! And fit my std exhaust.

And haha, Ramps may look dodgy, but I've had all 4 of my cars on them many times. There solid as.
There only 12" tall. But with the ground clearance a car has it equals a fair amount of room.
You'll never crush 6"x2" timers with scaffold boards spreading the load on top! Certainly not with a calibra lol.
I'd not get under a car if I didn't feel safe.
I trust these over any axle stand. And
Wouldn't dream of leaning under a car that was being held up by a factory supplied jack :/

My plans are to keep it standard and restore to near mint and original as possible, think I'll have an easier job than you mate lol As it's a tad more complete but fair play to you, really do take my hat off to you!!
From memory it's a 2 owner car just over 100k, need one of the rear arches done, just had literally £1000s spent on new brakes/lines/suspension/ service belts and clutch
