Opel Calibra Last Edition Nr.0462 * 400+ hp
Re: Opel Calibra Last Edition Nr.0462 * now with Turbo
Calibra is waiting for spring.
Meantime earlier this week I got new chips for my turbo.
Seller gained 295hp/430Nm with a bit different setup on stock KKK16.
Will see my results using this chips in a couple of months

Is here any specialist who can read/compare compressor maps?

Post up what you have, they're easy enough to read.
However many turbos, particularly garrett, have a wide range of housing options that can render published maps a touch meaningless especially if you don't know the precise spec of the measured turbo and/or the one you have. GT3076 being a prime example.

Yeah, I've read about Garrett turbos
Here I have compressor map of stock K16 (not Rally)
And here is comp map of another turbocharger
So, which of them delivers more air at boost pressure 1.0-1.2bar on C20LET engine?
Both are small with quick spool.

You're asking the wrong question. 1.0-1.2bar on the same engine at a given rpm has the same flow irrespective of turbo so long as intake temps are the same...
What you want to know is which turbo is most efficient for your given application. Now I'll assume you have a stock-ish LET with uprated intercooler and are running vmax evo 5 software which is mapped for 300bhp @ 18psi. For brevity I'll just say that with those parameters, use 2.4 pressure ratio and .20 m/s airflow. The first map is a clear winner, though one should say it is the lesser of two evils, lol.
Remember that changes to engine VE , inlet temps, pressure drops etc can change this quite dramatically. For example, the Vmax Evo chips are mapped using a low afr's ( 10.5 on WOT ! ) whereas my Motronic was mapped for 12.0-12.5 on WOT - thus will perform differently on the same turbo. Or more relevantly, will need a different turbo.
Other key factors affecting VE & Pressure ratios include cam choice, quality of headwork, valve size, intercooler efficiency, inlet etc. That's way I tried 4 or 5 different intercoolers on my 420bhp setup.

Re: Opel Calibra Last Edition Nr.0462 * now with Turbo
Thanks mate for your detailed explatation.
You're correct, my LET is almost stock besides lower CR and XE cam.
Unfortunately at the time being I am not aware about IC efficiency as it was not measured yet. Also AFR on WOT is not known for me yet. Wideband lamda (Innovate I guess) will be installed later this year.
No headworks have been performed yet. It is scheduled for autumn.
By the way I am looking for the software that can read/log as much sensor data on M2.7 as possible. It is so nice and easy implemented on cars with OBDII...

Today FPR and oil catch tank fitted
Also due to lack of F28 in our area I got F20 4x4. Will temporary fit it in couple with turbo tx box.
More pics will come later.

Look forward to them!
p.s. As you are a dab hand with the camera, I'll ask a small favour - can you take some pics of the fuel tank cover for me? The black sheet of plastic under the tank.

I guess you mean bottom spoiler, that comes on all Calibras just behind the fuel tank.
Do you need pic of it fitted, or separately from the car?

That's the one.
Ideally both fitted and seperate; fitted showing clearance would be the most useful

With a huge delay posting promised pics
FPR & oil catch tank
OEM rear bottom spoiler (not fitted on my Calibra, but on another fast Latvian beast )
Sorry, only mobiphotos available
It is a little bit higher than fuel tank, so it does not affect on how low car sits etc. However looking from behind it covers fuel tank and looks more aesthetically And I am sure this piece of staff was one of that leading to great Cx of Calibra long time ago

garyb, here you can see how the car with rear bottom spoiler looks from behind been lowered for ~20mm
Re: Opel Calibra Last Edition Nr.0462 * now with Turbo
What a star!
Great photos, as ever, thanx
If you don't mind, I've used them on another forum ( mig), I'll post the links up here ( and refer to this thread).
edit - have posted them here;

Yesterday I've received Eibach Pro-Kit springs. Will fit them together with Koni Sport shocks next week
