Rio Verde V6- not to everyones tastes
Rio Verde V6- not to everyones tastes
well i had a ecotec calibra back in 2006 (i think will have to check the Billing photos from that year to check) so decided to buy another calibra to use over the winter while my mk2 cav is stored away
started off as a standard and dare i say it boring calibra
now this is probably the point where the majority of you are gonna hate it but ah well thought i would show you anyway
i used a bonnet off a scrapper so its nothing that cant be un-done and on the plus side got it rollin roaded last weekend and it did ok!
if you hate it please tell me or if you like it post a comment just want to hear your thoughts either way

nah not gonna rust it all over just the bonnet i dont wanna do anything that cant be easily reversed in less than a couple of hours, its just a bit of tongue in cheek really, gets plenty of looks but that may not be a good thing!
the local police seem to like it they keep pulling me over to take a closer look

Re: Rio Verde V6- not to everyones tastes
well i must care otherwise i wouldnt have altered it and just ran it into the ground as a standard calibra?
just because its not the usual perfectly painted, polished shiney show car style calibra does that mean i dont care?
the guy who had it before me was running it into the ground, he hadnt serviced it in nearly 3 years or replaced any of the parts that needed replacing, would it have been better to have left him with it or for me to have it and have a bit of fun with it?

i never said you didnt care i said it looks like you dont care, if you are going for the ratrod look then go for it but theose cars are well thought about and presented well you still have a bit of work to do,

Re: Rio Verde V6- not to everyones tastes
yeah it will never be anymore rat than it is now as i dont wanna do anything that did the car any long term damage as i know it doesnt look like it but i really like calibras always have, and as the previous owner was gonna sell it to a lad to strip and stick the bits on his corsa/nova i couldnt let him do that
on a different note i had forgotten how comfy calibras are on long journeys
