My Silver Calibra Project

Thought i would start a wee project thread for my silver calibra so i can add pictures and details as i tackle the many jobs that need done. Right 1st job starting to tackle the tin worm which has set in over the winter months so far on inspection it doesn't look to bad but like we all know start digging and it can soon get out of hand.The 1st problem here is the previous owner has had the car painted at some point well the bottom half so the car now sports a two tone paint job star silver up top and what ever silver they used to paint the bottom with a very 90's black pin strip which the painter kindly lacquered over thank you very much so these touch ups might take a while to short out.But i will update as i go

Started to tackle rust on my silver cally today took the spoiler off to find big pitted rust patches oh dear worse than i thought so got stuck in grinding ,buffing and treating the rust with krust i am almost ready to fill all the holes and have no spoiler as i think it would suit not having one

In my opinion, a Spoiler only ever looks good, when the Car has a Full Body Kit fitted, as well...

Another nice summer night gave me a chance to get the tail gate primed and flatted off ready for the silver top coat as you can see the holes are still there so the spoiler will be going back on after all it did come from the factory with it as an added extra

Top coat now on just have to paint spoiler now and stick the badges back on

update not done to much to my silver cally been spending a lot of time on the se2 lately so i haven't painted the spoiler yet but i did manage to track down some original mud flaps finally i got the front and rear for £20 which i thought wasn't bad since you cant find them these days

So with the German invasion show at crail fast approaching and i want the silver cally to look half decent i finally got around to starting to paint the spoiler at the same time as painting the se2 much better than a rattle can

Result spoiler now painted and bolted back on looks so much better with the spoiler back on i did take care taken the badges off when i painted the tailgate but i couldn't bring myself to stick them back on today she looks very clean and fresh without them who knows maybe one day i might stick them back on

well i thought i would start tackling more of the rust on the silver cally so i whipped the bumper and head lights off and got stuck in not as bad as i thought

Quick splash of silver paint and some black under seal makes a big difference its not a top job but that wasn't my aim tho the aim was to get rid of the rust so job done

Looking good Daz - but jealous, same colour and year as my original Cally!
