Traction Control Warning Light Problem!

I have a 1996 calibra v6 and my traction control light on the dash comes on and stays on when it wants!
The tracion control itself works and the light flashes when you lose grip, just now and then after about ten minutes of normal driving the light will just come on and stay on and even pressing the TC button will not make the light go out. its driving me mad
