rear wiper,...wiping

Anyone know What controls the rear wiper?, mines gone round the bend!
I start the car the rear wiper starts,i flick the squirt to rear on and off back to neutral and the wiping stops, occasionaly it will do it again, but usualy not til i restart the car without touching the wiper arm again if i use the wiper it then stops when i release it
is this likely to be the wiper arm switch or the control box ecu / relay (whatever it is, ( where is it??))
