Ignition Switch/Alarm

Any electrical issues

Ignition Switch/Alarm

by Chew » Tue Sep 27, 2005 9:10 am

I have just recently bought myself a Calibra Turbo, however i have a few slight niggling problems, one of which is my ignition

When i turn the key off, sometimes the engine carries on running, but even if it cuts out all the ignition lights stay on. For this reason, i am having to take the battery off every night.

Has anyone had this problem?

I thought about just getting a new ignition switch, but if say the fan i running and i turn the key off, the fan goes off, however all the ignition check lights stay on on the instrument panel

Any help would be much appreciated

most likely the cd player is wired wrong, especially if its fuse has been changed to a higher rating

Got the problem sorted, some wires were shorting under the bonnet - £30
