Amps.

I have a 70 amp alternator at the moment, Since I have installed heated leather my warning lamp lights on the dash if you have a few electrical thing running, ie...... demister and lights(dim light) or heated seat and lights, and goes brighter if you stick on both seats.
Went to the auto shop to ask about the 110 amp, I was told only the 70 or 90/92amp ones are available for my car and they are priced in region of £169 plus VAT. also a sur charge as I would have no exchange unit.

How do I test if mine is goosed as I have a spare 70 amp one in the garage,

Cheers for any advice,

Mac.

go to an electrician that has an amp meter. but it can be caused by a lot of things, even a bad earth, or a bad line to the alternator. with the cheap electrical wiring of the cally theres no telling what causes them problems

My C20XE Cavalier used to light up dimley all the time, i suspect Callys are the same. Upgrade you alternator to the 90amp one this should help and then check your current draw on your seats.
