Window motors. 6wires???
Anyone know what the 6 wires on the motor connectors are for.
Neither window on my new cally work, I've swapped out the centre consol switches for known good units no diff.
So today i took the plug out both window motors, there is 12v constant between the big red and the big brown.. then when i press the window down button there is 9v between the eart and one pin, and 9v between the earth and another pin when i press up.. so i assume that is the main power to the system, plus a relay feed for up/down.. but what about the other 2 wires?
Basically I *think* the motor or control units are dead, but it seems coincidence that both sides are gone, so i want to verify with multimeter that the connectors are powering as they should. It seems theya re, but without knowing exactly what these other two are etc its hard to say.. i'm guessing they're window limit switches or something of that nature for feedback from the motor to the control unit in the switches.

I think the windows are digital signals not analogue. But Don't quote me on that.
One thing you could check though, you know where the round plug is on your door, take the plug out and inspect all the wirings going into it. I had a broken earth wire and it was causing me all sorts of grief. Have a look might be that.
Cheers

yeah it might be worth a nose, the power at this plug seems consistent, but its hard to know whats supposed to be there. there is deffo a constant 12v supply and a switched 9v supply working on the up/down switch... I've checked the cables to the doors, but not disconnected the connectors yet. i will do that and have a nose.. i think if work carries on like it is i will have some time next week to have a look. at the moment its dark when i'm getting home so i've not had chance to do owt..
