yes thats correct ,the immobiliser is under the dash just under the steering wheel
basically you can go to start it and it will be dead until you put the transponder into the immobilsation hole then the car starts after 5 secs

but also if it did happen to be a categry alarm i dont have any certificate for my car insurance

Hi mr toad, ive got a clifford alarm and immobiliser in my cally, ( god knows what model it is) basically it keeps arming itself when im driving and i have to keep the bloody fob in my hand to turn it off, any idea why it might be doing this? any help would be appreciated! I had my car broken into last week and im having to use the ignition switch with a screw driver to start it lol! until my new barrel arrives - does the key have to be in the ignition to stop this or is it something else?

ian,

another quick question. lost my keys in the end so now im working on one set, doh!! so would a toad powerkey immobiliser be a direct swap for the touch key type immobiliser? meaning if i unplug the existing touch key interface(which i now only have one key for) from the control box and plug the new powerkey one in, will it work?

cheers,
