Central Locking Question?

by Fostersice17 » Fri Nov 25, 2005 12:57 am

I put up a thread a while ago about my car un-locking itself as soon as you lock it,I noticed today that if you lock it from the drivers side it unlocks, but if you lock from the passenger side it stays locked,so which motor would be knackered? Thanks

Could be an earthing problem mate on that door. Make sure the connector by the door is all ok, no stripped wires or anything

Cheers

Had the same problem a few years ago.

It wasnt an electrical fault, the rods that link from the lock to to the inside handle were binding up big style with some of the foam thats behind there.
Just greased em up and all was ok.
Hope that sorts it.

Try your passenger door first.

Failing that, there is a connector inside the door by the door catch where it closes. Its a big round connector, You have to twist it and it comes off.

Then pull back the cover and have a look

Hi
Had this myself and it was the passenger side door lock being sticky
Spray some wd40 into the lock and turn it back and forth with the key a couple of times until it eases off

Good luck Dan
