For anyone with lexus light dash warning

Ok ive just sorted this and as lots of people have the same problem, think i may be worth sticking in the how to section.

after installing your lexus lights basically the warning light on the dash is displayed because the draw on the lights isnt enough with the new dual filament bulbs, so the lighting check tells you that a bulb is out.

to solve this i decided to use an led light rod, like the ones used in underbody kits, which the previous owner had mounted in the footwells. it has 6 leds which i thought should be plenty. 1 is needed for each side. another type of bulb or lighting may do the job also but this is what i used.

u need to unclip the rear bulb wiring from the wiring harness. then take the wiring harness and either cut or strip back the rear light wire (grey/black on left hand side [as u look at the car from behind] and red/grey on the right hand side). Then cut or strip back the ground wire (brown on both sides). Wire in the positive of the led light rod to the wire of the rear light and the other to the ground. then reconnect if you cut the wires and tape them up. then reconnect the clips to the rear bulbs.

job done, turn on your lights and hey presto, no warning light. and now u also have plenty of light in your boot when u have your lights on.

if anyone has better names for the things ive described, please feel free to edit so that it is easier for people to understand.

maybe its down to the type of lexus light so. prob just all those that have dual filament bulb for the brakes and rear lights. which im guess the 5 pod type lexus lights dont have?
