Heated seat cable?

by Doodley » Mon Feb 06, 2006 10:25 pm

on the driver seat of my 93 cally, there are two cables (a brown&yellow one, and a brown one) that come out of the back support of the seat, they come out were the seatbelt clips in. the heated seat is connected under the seat, this cable goes straight up into the base part. any ideas what these cables are for? they are cut off and have no plug on them. are the back supports of the chair supposed 2 be heated? i dont think mine works, should they be connected inside the seat somehow?! cheers

THe backs should be heated. The cable from the base of the back should be connected to the wires in the base. They often split due to the poor location the wires were located. Solder them back together and you'll be great. Pass the wires away from the seat hinge too, to avoid it happening again.

i cant find the cables it should attatch to though, shall i extend, re-run them, then join them at the plug under the seat?

Don't know if that would work. Easiest thing I would suggest is to take the seat out, turn upside down, and route around inside the base. The wires will be there.

also, the cables that are hanging out the back of the seat are different coloured to the plug under the seat, do I assume brown is positive and brown&yellow is negative or will it not matter as its just an element?thanks mate
