oil temp sensor

does anyone know where the wire from the oil temperature sensor on the 4x4 transfer box goes,i tried to trace it back so i could disconnect it but it seemed to disappear into the bulk head behind the brake reservoir :?

Isn't the connector on the very back of the temp sensor, ie the connecotr is the sensor?
