What year is you car coz the connector is part of the wiring fitted to the car. You may have the connector fitted to the loom already just tucked away behind the dash. The connector on the back of the trip comp wont be of use coz if the wiring is there the connector will be behind the dash anyway.

The plug that goes into the trip comp will be on the wiring behind the dash, from the year I would say that a good hunt behind the dash will show the wiring with the plug already on it so the one on the comp will not be needed [img]/smile.gif[/img]
One last thing did you get the switch for the comp aswell that goes where the coin holder is

My '95 8v had the wiring, so I think we can safely say yours will too.
Have a hunt behind the dash, with your left hand. Take the glovebox out and have a good feel about. Takes some finding, and a cable tie or 2 will need cutting, but its all there in the guide:

Once its been installed its likely to need programing for your car:
