Brown/purple i think is the alarm trigger wire which is earthed to the HU chassis so if stolen vaux car alarm goes off.

Is the other wire red/bue or 2 wires one red and the other blue ?

The blue/red wire is for speed of car (mph) for speed sensitive voloume on Vauxhall SC804 radio, so in other words just blank it off

Its wired to the back of the Headunit (earth) so if some one pulls it out the car alarm sounds.

Only what i read, i would start by checking the wire's, fuses and connections.
