EL Wire and car wiring

Hi,
for you electrically bods out there, can you help?
I am looking to purchase some EL wire but am unsure about connecting it to the cars power.

What I want to do is basically build angel eyes on the front - so linking them to the side lights power, and then something custom on the rear lights.

It seems that these places sell el wire and invertors but only for a 12v power supply. Can I link straight up to the side light power source?

angel eye fitting guide here and yes u can do them straight to the side light holder, unsure what u mean about the rears though

make sure u wire them the right way round though

Thanks Cozy, but the reason I want to wire up EL wire is because I'm not wanting angel eyes as such. I want something a little different.

As far as Iknow the angel eyes are made from EL wire.
