Tacometer Problem

by tizerni » Thu Aug 17, 2006 4:39 pm

Hi,

I recently got a new rebuilt enging for my calibra but since its went in the tacometer has started going a bit funny. Ie it is normal sometimes but other times it just jumps about wildly. Has anyone else had this problem? would it be a wiring problem or something wrong with the actual instrument, my initial thoughts are a wire damaged during the engine swap but i have no ideal were to look to trace the fault any advise from anyone would be appreciated??

Thanks

ps are calibra wheel arches bolted on or welded on?

Hi, on the back of the speedo is a small black block about 7mm square with 3 metal prongs and held down with 1 screw, that is the voltage regulator, try swapping with another to see if that makes any difference.

Wheel arches ? front or back
