central locking gone mad

help sometimes when i unlock door with key it relocks again and again when im driving the doors lock also lock when i open/close windows and keeps re locking. if i open passenger lock it will stay unlocked i have changed the window console switch does anybody know what is causing this also where is the relay . jeff

sounds like a faulty solenoid or the wires are bare ..relay is in the drivers kick panel

cheers for reply i removed kick panel and found 2 purple relays and central locking module the cover came of easy to reveal circuit board which i think includes 2 relays it looks ok no dry joints etc so i gues it must be faulty looks exspensive tried local scrap yards but they don't have any autovaux are going to ring me back with a price on monday.will let you know if it works.The 2 relays did not affect locks or windows jeff

grab a locking control unit from the scrappers, new they cost flipping hundreds for such a simple device

same thing in cav's and astra's if no calibras are about, probably vectras to but not sure on that, always bolted down behind that same panel

if youhave messed about with your handles thenits possible that you may have the locking microswitch falling about

ive had door panel off and checked switches/wiring and its all ok so its solenoid or central locking module as it is the operation of windows and turning on ignition that causes it to lock also window wont close using door key it must be module what do you think ? new module will cost £80

at last all working to keep it short i changed the processor and door solenoid but no change i then took out window winder and motor took motor off cleaned it plugged it back in socket and checked it then put it all back and hey presto working but dont know why any way thanks for all your help jeff
