Cheap upgrade for crappy headlamps needed

Any electrical issues

Well fitted the hid's today and placed the ballasts under the headlight unit, quite a snug fit. They look great and are V bright, opted for the 4300k. Only thing that bothers me though is that when I first switch on the lights I get a slight flash from both lights and then they settle down and get steadily brighter until they are at their brightest. Is this a common thing with hids or have I got a problem? Oh and I went for the £20 one's on ebay with £20 delivery so all in all not a bad deal, I think?

Lots of that stuff up here, pea soup and all! When I say looks poorly in comparison, I mean POORLY! It's as thought there are little candles rather than bulbs fitted! Can anyone recommend a good bulb that will at least give a better performance when needed? Apart from more hids that is? Will take a photo when I get home just to show you guys what I mean

What make were they as they do look pretty good for standard bulbs. Sort of thing I'm looking for?
