The drivers side electic window still works in both directions but only when you hold down the button. The passenger side one still operates in the normal way, ie once it starts to move it continues until you operate the oposite direction button. Anyone got any ideas.

If you've disconnected the battery you need to reprogram the window system. This is done by holding the drivers window switch for a few seconds after you've lowered the window, this should solve your problem.

I did disconnect the battery recently and the reprogramming did the trick. Thanks very much.

Ps. The reason for disconnecting the battery was to fit HID headlights. They are "brilliant". I would definitely recommend them.
