SE6 8V Oil Pressure Gauge Always high

by Bunnygirl1978 » Mon Oct 20, 2008 4:08 pm

I've only recently purchased this car and still finding my way around the usual hot spots where there are faults.
Everytime I turn the engine on the oil pressure gaguge jumps from zero to off the readings.
I've checked the oil, correct amount and type, engine temp is fine, car sounds fine when driven.
I would of thought if the senor had gone then the reading would be low.
Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me?

gauge will show full scale if there's no electrical connection, as suggested above check the connector on the back of the oil pump, you'll need to jack it up and probably best to remove the drivers front wheel as the connector is hard to reach

Hello and welcome, what a wise choice in the SE6, I have the same model myself as you can see in the gallery section. Get some pics posted for us all to see when you get the chance, Mark.
