cam sensor problems
Hi
In need of help as I have ran out of options, Car is 98R 16v Ecotec. Its in safe mode at the mo with no light on the dash. so lacks power & will not rev to over 4500rpm. Fault shown on reader is cam sensor incorect signal.
So I have replaced the cam sensor, cam belt, cam sensor wiring (right back to the ECU) & had the ECU checked for faults. Still no joy.
As a long shot I have also replaced coil pack & air flow sensor.
Any further ideas?
Thanks
Sean

Re: cam sensor problems
ok will do clip test in the morning, Yes it did just start doing it. only thing I had to change was the CAT for the MOT about a week after this the problems started. Have since replaced the CAT back with the old one & no change. Yes it was the correct sensor just had to plug it in. spoke to VX who advised about the loom problems. When I checked mine found slight fault with 1 of the wires by ECU hence the rewire from ECU to cam sensor. still same fault. Could the Crank sensor be at fault but ECU is reading Cam fault instead?
