does anyone know how to adjust the head lights as the beam is to high failed it on mot

Haynes says there is a hole above the headlight that a screw driver can be inserted into and turn screw to adjust to required hight. have the headlight adjuster on dashboard set at 0

lol thats it he said the back springs are causing them to be high cos theyve collapsed i looked at back springs and there fine,so hes at it

The hole in the top is for left to right adjustment ...the picture shows the bit to adjust the height

on a mot your not allowed to adjust anything as far as im aware

An MOT tester is not allowed to change/ adjust anything on an MOT, even someting as simple as that or a blown bulb.
Most good garages call you for small things like that to get your permission to change them during the MOT to pass it.

my local garage where i have been taking all my cars for the last 10 years has just changed the MOT tester to a young guy. the c**k has been a total a******e, he failed mine for headlight adjustment, really not the same service. not going back and i have told them so. sometimes when it comes rules some things can be sorted there and then and if they wont do it then they really are being anal about it.

the guy ive been going to for 9 years always been fair till i took the cally in if the lights needed adjusted he wud do it there n then,i bumped into an old mate on sat i use to work with him in kwik fit hes still mot tester there i explained my situation with the calibra he said wen u have it ready he said take it down and leave it with me so gona do that!!

my guy at the mot place will always adjust it if he has to as he wudnt like to lose a good customer for something as small as that , he sorted me with a dodgy sidelight bulb he just said get yourself another one after he had put it through .been going down there 10 years + now
