Cruise Control

I am currently taking the cruise control out of my knackered 8V and putting it in the V6.
On the old car I took the speed signal off the red/blue wire behind the speedo on the dash as the old speedo was cable driven. As the V6 speedo is not cable driven, do I still use the red/blue wire on the V6?

yes you do ..or there is also the same wire at the stereo or on the fuel computer connector
