Help start the Cav

On behalf of someone else as I know better than to rip things apart without looking to see how they go back together first!

A relitive of mine has a M reg Vauxhall Cav, 2.0 (C20 XEV from memory) CD, having problems since changing the ignition barrel, had changes the lock and key as well as the transponder unit under key no joy, so switched key transponder chip and ignition reciever and car is still not staring all it will do is flash engine managment light on dash. I need to pass info on as I'm not with the car at the moment. I am just glad its not my E36 as everything is linked on that damn thing.... Thank you for any help...

you never changed the ecu though did you ??

the key, transponder and ecu all need to match, if he has the pass key number he should be able to program them if he can get a hold of a computer to do it
