Remote Locking - Learn from my mistake!

Any electrical issues

Ive been staying at my girlfriends (hence lack of posts recently), and as the week went by the unlocking was failing more and more frequently. Its delocked and it was getting embarrasing climbing in through the boot!

Took it to bits & found that my earth connection was manky... Cleaned it up expecting all to be OK again, but as soon as i had all the trim back on, it failed again.

I'd used the bracket for the existing central locking unit as the earth, but it turned out this wasnt good enough and is only randomly earthed! Think it might have been the cold causing the bracket to contract and lose contact with whatever earth it had :? . So i got out a drilled a new hole, and filed some paint away to make a decent earth point.... No problems since

Anyway - Moral of my story - Dont be lazy like I was... Make sure youve got a *Really* good earth if you fit this / or have any problems...
Especially as I discovered that it doesnt need an earth to lock, only unlock! Could leave you in a right mess...
