Hi,

I have a 95 ecotec Cally and I have a feeling the previous owner disabled the alarm.

Where is the first place I should look as I want this up and running before I put any ICE in there ?

All help with this would be appreciated !

Thanks for the replies;

Rusty CallyT - The reason is because I was unsure that there was an alarm at all so I took it to my local Vauxhall dealer and they had a quick look and said that they didn't know why it wasn't working and would cost me about 200 squid just to look at it!!!!

Gran - as yet I have no ICE as yet but as always I want to put everything in and on the car all in one go and as quickly as possible. So I thought if I can get the standard alarm working then the ICE then an aftermarket Alarm once I have the money for the alloys and bodykit !
And thanks for the warm welcome...

RustyT - I have now tried your locking theory and nothing I have also left the windows open locked it waited a few minutes and climbed into the car and nothing !!

Looks like I might just buy an aftermarket alarm....... any suggestions ?

it's poss the ring (attached to inside of lock) is broken. it activates the alarm by making contact with the micro switch when the driver's lock is fully turned.
this was the problem with mine and cost about twenty pounds to fix and vauxhall's mechanic fitted it to the lock at no extra cost leaving me the job of sticking back in the door, all together a v easy job done quickly.
Hope this helps
