Goosed alarm

Any electrical issues

by Mac » Thu Jan 06, 2005 12:40 am

Ok, My Battery is playing up( sometimes holds a charge sometimes doesn't) But my problem is my standard alarm keeps going off if you open a door or turn the ignition on, I was never given a fob for it,
But I have driven the car about fine till the battery starts dying then the horn thing goes off.

Is it only cos' the battery is dead or an underlying fault somewhere??

I am gonna get a new Batt but need to know if the alarm is gonna kill it same as this one before I spend out.

Cheers.

I asked about disabling it and have been advised to just unplug the sensors on the roof panel and maybe the bonnet sensor, Do you know about the factory immob?

Rob mate did you get a certificate for your CAT1? how much?

Nearly wired mine up just gotta do the under bonnet connection before I plug it all in.

Mac, the standard Vaux alarm doesn't / didn't have a fob with it, its armed/disarmed by the door lock.
