heheh yeh, but then the relays are an intermittant one until the relay dies outright. as you've found out sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.. its just dodgy connections inside.. the footwell is very damp and its quite a high use high amp relay.

Exactly the same hapenned with me. When mine broke down Friday night, I tapped all the fuses as I wasn't sure where the fuel pump relay was, and low and behold it started. Funny thing is, the problem actually turned out to be the voltage wire had come off the pump, which is at the very back of the car.

In reality, I probably jolted the wire back on the pump on Friday when it fired later by simply slamming the door a few times, and bearing in mind the relay is very near the drivers door (unless you've got a late model in which case I think they're under the bonnet) so if you open and shut the door a few times it's probably having the same effect as tapping the relay.

Just a thought

it did it again this morning, ahh,no light,so i took off the kick plate and the relay is blue, and everytime i tapped it the light came on and then when i turned the key it went off,so it took me about half a hour to get it going,
does any1 know if this is normal?, as i tapped it the abs ecu kepted makeing a buzzing sound for about 3 seconds, and i got alot of clicking when i turned the key(but the car turned over as normal), im getting a relay from vauxhall 2 mo,hopefully that will sort it,jay
