Left Brake light on permanent..?
This sounds like a really daft question...(but you're all probably used to those from me by now..)..
I noticed last week that my left side brake light was out, so got a spare bulb and swapped it over, then when I put the lights back on , the brake light was permanently on.
I can see on the old bulb that one of the two filaments in the bulb is obviously burnt out (it's a dual filament bulb as it's the tail light and brake light combined just in case anyone hasn't looked at one before..)
Anyone got any ideas as to why that might be happening? It's only on the left side, right hand side is behaving itself (bulb hasn't blown, and only comes on with brake pedal).
I do have a 3rd high level brake light that was already fitted by a previous owner, it is wired up to the left hand side cluster, and that is also working fine, so hopefully at the moment it's not too much of an issue in terms of Mr Plod, but that said I don't like having things not working!
Apart from the bulb holder being a bit fiddly to remove/reinstall due to some thick pipe/cabling in the way, I thought it would be a 2 minute job..!

Weird!
just spent another 30 mins chopping and changing bulbs, holders etc trying to logically approach the problem, finally ended up getting a spare holder (got set of rear lights spare off ebay last year), swapped a holder with a bulb already in, and everythings tickety boo...
I'm not convinced the bulbs I got from Halfrauds are correct, even tho I looked them up on the chart,..
still all is well now

I did take heed of what you said on the previous post Rog, I wasn't being ignorant
can't see how your mate managed to get them to sit in the wrong way around tho, I tried deliberately and the bulb wouldn't 'lock' in . One way around they would push in properly and turn, the other way you can push the bulb down a little, but when you twist it the buld just pops up again and didn't make contact.
Just glad to have the lights working properly again, it was really starting to bug me!
