Under bonnet light
Under bonnet light
This morning i removed the bonnet lining.
I knew that there was a light under the bonnet and knew that it didnt work.
Basically it isnt attached to anything. I can see that the brown wire is my earth and just needs screwing down. The other wire is a long black one which is long enough to reach into the engine bay. It has a spade connector on the end, only thing is i dont know where i need to connect it.
I assume that it needs to go to a pressure sensor of some sort, or it would be on all the time, am i right?
It must have worked at some point because the bulb has blown that was it in.
Can anyone help at all???
Thanks

It doesnt have a pressure sensor, it only lights when the lights are on, all the time even when the bonnet is down!, i cant remember exactly where to connect the wire ( not going outside now as its pi**ing down!), but it goes to the loom by the pollen/cabin filter ,by the wires to the interior fan. under the plastic bit at the back of the engine bay that goes to the window.

bonnet lights are on all the time, when you turn your lights on, this is why normaly the bulbs are blown.
the lights brown earth wire should be screwed into the bonnet with a 7mm speed bolt, hole should be near the location of the light.
the power/feed wire (black) feeds down inside the bonnet and comes out where you washer jet pipe feeds in, the connection for this(i think) is along by the heater blower. easeist way is just to check with test light to be safe, when you find an appropriate looking wire.

Theres only one wire on mine, it earths through the bonnet
under the plastic bit where the fan motot is find the main wires to the fan, the bit of loom going there has a load ?4 thick wires going to the fan and one thin green wire with a spade connector on the end this feeds next to the washer tube and into the bonnet to the light., it must just connect to the headlight feed so if you havent got one just run a wire over to the lights.
wire is there only on the car with headlight washers K 16v
Deffo not there in loom on M turbo ( just had a look about fitting one onto mine )
