Battery light
what Mick says is true.
The only circuits that run directly off the alternator are the charge circuit and the heated rear window.
It'll most likely be that your battery is being drained to a lower voltage than the alternator is putting out. It only needs a couple o volts difference to light up.
One thing though..... if the one of the field diodes in the alternator has gone short or open circuit, then the bulb may come on dimly all the time..... this is a problem and requires a new alternator.

Yep..mine too..appears alot of calibras do this...my old 8V did and my V6 is the same. The meter showing 9amps at times and in this cold weather was labouring to turn the engine over..anyway it died on me yesterday so i've got myself a new battery.. can still see a faint glow but showing 12 - 13 amps...i suspect that this one will eventually give in..but at the moment its cheeper than replacing the alternator?
