remote locking

Tony, I assume you've already searched for stuff , but I just looked back and found my original (longggggg...) posts when I was fitting my kit and having problems.
Theres a bit in there about some info I found relating to the wiring looms, unlocking probs etc..

yeah, just read it. I guess it depends on which kit you go for as to which wires, what colours etc etc. As i have said (soooo many times) test lamp, solder iron and a good earth is all i needed to do the job and it took little over a couple of hours from start to finish. The instructions i had with mine weren't worth a toss, but the diagram and wire colours were a bit of a help. Bout 8 wires and a birds nest of cabling under the dash....

thanks alot for that leigh!!! i know the stress and sleepless nites that you went through as i am experiancing exactly the same problem now, its lockin but not unlockin.i am pretty sure its not a earth problem on mine as it is on the glovebox earth. have not tried disconnecting the brown/red wire, if this works u shall have a BIG reward!!!

right guys after yet ANOTHER day of looking at the wiring and re checkin the wires i think i may have finally come to the problem!!!!! i noticed that when i picked up the main control box it locked the doors!!!?? everytime i touch it it locks them, gonna go vauxhalls monday and show them the problem and demand a replacement!

I know how frustrating it was when I was constantly rechecking the wiring, you sit there thinking "why the f*ck can't I see what's wrong.."

thats so true leigh, the amount of times i have checked the wires is stupid! cant belive its the box! everytime u move it it locks the doors? have a feelin that taking it back to vauxhall is not gonna run smoothly! gonna leave it in the car and show them.

took the control unit back 2day, had a little arguement bout it, they were unsure if they could replace it! then i proved to them that it was faulty and they agreed to replace it. its comin 2morro so this could finally be the end of it all!

replaced old box with new 1 and it no longer locks when u touch it:) but supprise, supprise it still does not unlock:mad: i really cant figure this out now, i have phoned the helpline and they cant understand it either? there is 2 options now, either go vauxhall and get a replacement barrel£30 or pay some one to look at it? anyone got any ideas?????

Did you try with that red/brown wire disconnected Tony?

thanks for the help anyway guys but i have now given in, got a auto electrican comin round 2morro. he suspects its wired wrong, gonna be gutted if it is as i have been over it so many times! will c what happens 2morro.

finally got it workin 2day!!! still 1 loose connection 2 sort out and also need some veccy handles 2 finish the job. thanks for all your help guys.
