Fixed my heated seat!
Out of curiosity, I decided to have a fumble around the back of the chair inside the leather to see if I could find the wires... I found one end that seemed to have been sheared off, and after a lot more searching around i found the other half of the wires.
Rather badly joined them together by stripping, twisting, and wrapping them in insulation tape. Oh, and I put the wires through 6" of the outer insulation of a 3 core wire to protect it from the hinge as thats obviously whats cut it...
Its the first time its been working since I got the car, so now I can have a toasty arse at the touch of a button!
Not that I need it now its going to be "summer" soon, but im still pleased I've fixed it!

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Would it be possible to solder the wires ??<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Im sure it can be done, its just that I cant.....
No soldering iron / soldering skills made pretty sure of that one!
If it goes again il get my brother on it, he solders for a living!
Other than that, It was fairly easy - guess it depends where on the wire its broken tho. I had about an inch to play with, coming out of the bottom of the seat.
I found the best way of checking its working is to watch the voltmeter carefully, as you turn it on and off... you can see it move significantly if its working... Oh, and i felt like i'd pÃÂÂssed myself after about 5 mins.... !

:lolabove: mines not working as the volt gauge don't move at all for either seat and it don't feel like I p*ssed myself after 5 mins, well there was that time... won't go there:lol:
Sorry if I offended you on your repair skills, didn't mean to. I've done some right bodges in my time(am I diggin a bigger hole here??). I was just wondering if there was room for the Iron. Thanks for answer that

I reckon theres room to solder, so long as its not broken too close to the seat...
Im pretty happy with my patented wire twisting skills, ive done several "connections" before like that (and shed loads of tape), and not had problems yet... touch wood.
Dont worry, no offense taken at all - I reckon if there was a soldering iron kicking about I woulda given it ago... But if theres any problem it should be fairly easy to relocate again and do 'properly'!
Im not even gonna use the car for 3 months, let alone the heated seat, so I wasnt particularly worried about doing a decent job at the time!

You may need to do that mate, I taped mine up and they worked themselves loose again so ended up soldering them. I also soldered a couple of inch of cable between the two snapped ends so that it has move to room when the seats being moved forward , this way it wont work itself loose again.
