Clearing Fault Codes?

by Rust » Mon Apr 18, 2005 12:50 pm

I have a 16v ecotec Calibra & I am trying to clear the fault codes from the ECU. According to the FCR & the Haynes Fault Finder Manual all you have to do to clear the memory is to disconnect the battery for 5 mins or take out the ECU fuse (I presume the correct fuse is one of the fuses in the fuse box in the engine bay) for a few seconds. Neither of these two options has cleared the Fault Code memory.

Anyone out there know what I am doing wrong.

Cheers,

Rusty.

you can only clear the fault codes if you have eliminated the faults

try this thread

I'm guessing here but if u have the same ECU as me then u need to turn the ignition on for 5 seconds then back off. Do this 30 times to clear it. But it all depends on which ECU you have. Or goto vauxhall and pay them to to it

hope this help
