URGENT - Fuel Tank Vent Valve

This puzzled me somewhat, so i took the dash out and check the bulb. This had blown [don't know how], so i replaced it promptly. Now that i've done so, the damn thing stays on. I thought i'd splash out and take it to the local Quest to plug it in to the Tech1 diagnostic to find out what was the cause of the problem, and was told in was the fuel tank vent valve low voltage (code61). Just wondered if anyone else had encountered this problem before? I was told to just unplug it and have the ECU reset [is that a Quest only job?] to turn the light off, but i'm a great believer in if it's there, it serves a purpose and was done so for a reason. So, it's booked in to be looked at this Thursday at Quest [£50 an hour +VAT!!!]. Should i just go get another valve [the little black box on the rhs of the injection rail as you look into the engine bay with a 2 pin plug & 2 small black hoses attached], or let them sort it out and cherge me £28ish for a new one? Please help me, as i wanna get it sorted out as quickly and cheaply as possible! [Damn students, always lookin for the cheapest option!!!] Tempted to say to the guys spend no more than 2 hours tryin to fix it, but don't know if that's a good idea or not?!?<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc-->

I thought to reset the ECU you just took the battery off for 10min?

I would do it myself and pay 28 for the part, u can reset the ECU by disconecting teh battery for 20mins.
