Instrument Fuse Blowing
The other day on the way back from the airport I noticed my fuel comp display had died - only the comp figures NOT the time. I checked the fuses and one of them had blown. This also resulted in the top LH row (and possibly RH too) dashlights failing to illuminate and I think the cigarette lighter was affected to. I replaced the fuse and it all seemed okay then a few miles down the road it had gone again. Now, before I start ripping the dash off looking for shorts I just want to check that there isn't a common area for shorts in this particular circuit. Has anyone else had similar trouble and if so where did they find the fault. It's obviously intermittant (the worst faults to chase) so if anyone can suggest a likely culprit it could save me a lot of hard work...

<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I think the reverse light switch (screwed into the gearbox) can cause this when it has seen better days!<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->It may well do as it's all on the same circuit. Unfortunately there are a few other things on there too. I'll replace the fuse again and select reverse and see if it blows again..? I think it's just a matter of eliminating the seperate circuits one by one until I find the culprit...
