Dome light acting weird

Dome light acting weird

by tsdinos » Sat Aug 06, 2005 2:23 pm

After i changed the sunroof motor the dome light started to do weir things. Unless i have the cable which feeds the 2 reading lights the dome light will come on when i'll lock the car and stays on! Also i remember that the delay works only when the engine is not running, but now it works even with the engine running.
Any ideas?

I take it you have an omega light unit coz the cally didnt have reading lights and factory there is no delay on the interior light. That opens a can of worms so to speak. What wires did you touch apart from the sunroof ones?

Mine has map lights, I think there fitted to the later models.
Not sure on your problem, Sounds like u have connected the wire the wrong way round!!! but thats not easy to do. I just got a new one for mine out of cav at a scrappy for £5

I didn't touch anything apart that i had to cut a clip to seperate the sunroof motor's cable and the cables for the dome light. I think its the original one as i heard that after 95 calibras had time delay and map lights. The electronic chips board seems to be bend though.. Anyway, doesnt really bothers me now, i'll see when come back to UK

my 94 has sunvisor lights and a delay/courtesy light on for about thirty seconds after i lock the door. My electrical problems tend to work them selves out after a few days on their own. My windows dont always go down automatically for a few days if i touch anything electrical.

Maybe your windows needs reprogramming. Just open it fully then close it and then reopen it again. Mine its the sensors (especially the camshaft one) that seems to work whenever it likes. Last week it was like hell, car jumping and kicking and this weeks seems to be fine without the check engine light coming on

didnt know you could reprograme them. I must be doing it and not realising it by putting the windows down and up by holding the button down till they reached the top and bottom.
