Tidying up my loom - disaster waiting to happen?

by Chavtastic » Wed Aug 17, 2005 9:01 pm

Right booked a load of time off next week to tidy my loom up.

I've relocated the battery to the boot so I'm going to run all of the earths in the engine bay to a good point on the bulkhead (and double them all up). Ditto the power cables to a distribution block inside that relay box that's 95% empty.

I've had an alarm removed on the car a while ago, but there's still a lot of wiring for it (looks a mess), so how do I know what to disconnect or cut off?

Any ideas?

Also how much of the loom can be extended and hidden in the wings? Both are coming off.

have a multimeter at hand to check the wiring. Any cut ones from the alarm should show up on it so you can get rid of them. HAd to rewire my head unit wiring not long ago, some one before had got all the speakers wired in the wrong way round and there was no power to play cds.

Two different looms you have there.. the engine loom and the main loom. I've just taken my engine loom out and the alarm wires are still there - so be careful!
