Push-button central locking???

by steve3000 » Sat Oct 22, 2005 4:09 pm

Hello,
I'd like to add a push-button on the dash to central lock the doors.
How do I do this? Looking at the circuits I think I just have to add a switch to earth the brown/white locking wire...or is it the brown/red one?

Anyone?

Cheers,
Steve

Any decent aftermarket cat1 alarm should have an autolock function on it. Fit one of those instead and have peace of mind as well.
I used to own this Calibra...
I now own this one.

from passenger door lock switch, trace the wire to the central locking unit, then patch it up with another switch. easy to say, hard to do cus u need to take off the door card and foot panel. bleh, get an alarm while your at it

I'm considering redesigned door cards and replacing door handles with push-button solenoid triggers... Also have a panel of 3 switches where the TC button is on the V6, so need to find a use for all 3.

well, if you're doing that, after you take the door cards off, you will see those microswitches on the inside of the door handle. if you have a multimeter with a probe feature you can trace the wire before it gets to the door.
good luck
